Director of Coaches
Select Set's Director of Coaching, Shelly Barberee is Texas Woman's University head Coach. As of 2009, it will be Coach Barberee's seventh season at TWU. She was named the 2008-09 TWU Coach of the Year at the eighth annual Greater Denton Sports Commission (GDSC) Awards Banquet on Monday, May 18, 2009. She was recognized for placing emphasis on athletes' work ethic and attitude in volleyball as well as in life.
Barberee arrived at Texas Woman's University in 2003 and made an immediate impact on the volleyball program, taking the team from last place to first. Not only did she earn Lone Star Conference North Division Coach of the Year honors in her first season, she also led the Pioneers to their best record since 1997. She coached six All-Conference selections in 2003, more than any other Lone Star school. TWU advanced to the Lone Star Conference tournament for the sixth straight season and posted a winning record for the third consecutive year.
Prior to TWU she served six years as the head volleyball coach at Hill College in Hillsboro, Texas. Barberee won two Region V Coach of the Year awards at Hill (in 1999 and 2001) and also coached four NJCAA All-Americans, 18 All-Region V athletes, and eight NJCAA Academic All-Americans. Barberee is currently a lecturer for the TWU Kinesiology department. She spent two years as the Kinesiology Division Director at Hill College. She also taught numerous classes in her six years at Hill, including CPR/First Aid, volleyball/tennis, sports officiating, weight training, Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries and Lifetime Sports.
Barberee earned her Masters of Education in 1997 and her Bachelor of Science in 1994 at Stephen F. Austin State Universityin Nacogdoches, Texas. While at SFA, she worked as an athletic trainer for basketball, football, soccer and softball teams. Barberee was a letter winner in volleyball and softball at Hill College from 1990-92, earning All-Conference honors in softball in 1992. She is a member of the Texas Association for Health and Physical Education, the Texas Community College Teachers Association and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

Coach A.T.
Coach A.T.'s full name is Atinae Uili Lealiiee. He was born on November 02, 1962 on the island America Samoa in the Village of Fagasa. He has lived in Denton for 27 yearsA.T. has two children, Tavita (18), and Mataio (17). Both boys attend Denton High School. He is an ASE Certified Master Technician and worked at Nissan for 21 years before opening his own shop.
Coach A.T. began playing volleyball when he was 9 years old as a setter for his older sister. He played for the Miller Lite Volleyball team and also played doubles. He privately coached/trained children for the Miller Lite volleyball team. A.T has coached church sports. He has coached several teams in the area over the last 25 years. Last year he coached for Team North Texas. He has conducted spring trainings for Denton High School.

Coach Danielle
Coach Danielle Pegues just finished her senior volleyball season at TWU where she is an occupational therapy major. She is a 6'1" Middle Blocker and Right Side Hitter. Danielle played in 30 games for TWU during her first full season with TWU in 2006. In 2007 she started 10 matches for TWU as a sophomore and made a solid contribution for the Pioneers, totaling 85 kills, 18 assists, three service aces, 60 digs, 35 total blocks, and 106 points and had two matches with double-digit kills. Danielle was named to the 2007 Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for her scholastic work. In the 2008 season with TWU she played in 20 matches, recorded 40 kills and 20 total blocks.
Prior to TWU Danielle played volleyball at Southeastern Louisiana University. Danielle graduated from Marble Falls High School in 2005 where she was a two-year letter winner in volleyball, a two-time all-district 17-4A first team selection and earned a second-place finish at track districts in the discus. She was a three-time academic all-district honoree in volleyball and track. Danielle played club volleyball for AIM and Austin Metro squads.
Danielle's hobbies are sewing, sand volleyball, hanging out with the team.

Coach Amanda
This is Amanda Hall's first year to coach. She has played volleyball since she was eight years old, starting with the YMCA in the Houston area in 1999.
Amanda played club volleyball for five years. In 2006 and 2008, her teams went to the Junior Olympics. She played two years with Southwest Juniors (Houston area), one year with Texas Juniors DFW and two years with Dallas Synergy. Amanda came to Denton in her sophomore year in high school and played three years for the Denton High School Lady Broncos volleyball team.
In Amanda's sophomore year, she was awarded the honor of 5-4A District Newcomer of the Year (2006). In her junior year (2007), she received the 5-4A District Hitter of the Year award, as well as the Denton Record-Chronicle's All-Area honor of Co-Offensive MVP of the year in 2007. She also led the district in service aces that year. In her senior year (2008), Amanda was the District 5-4A Defensive Specialist of the Year. Amanda also received Academic All-District honors in her junior and senior years at Denton High.
Amanda is a freshman volleyball player at Texas Woman's University. Her major is Elementary Education. She loves working with kids and loves coaching.

Coach Launa
Launa McClung is a sports psychology major in her junior year at TWU. She is a 6'1" Right Side Hitter under Coach Shelly Barberee
In high school, Launa Earned four varsity volleyball letters, three at Silsbee High School and one at Nederland High School named. She was All-District three times and tabbed 2006 District 22-4A Player of the Year. Launa helped her team earn the 2006 District 22-4A Championship and Class 4A Regional finals. She also earned Texas Sports Writers All-State team twice, played club volleyball for Jefferson Co. Juniors, Club Texas and Willowbrook Asics and was a national qualifier in 2005 with Club Texas 17 Black.
Launa's collegiate volleyball career began at Sam Houston State University where she played two successful seasons appearing in 29 matches in 2007, ranking third on the team in digs (173) and fifth in Kills (195). In 2008 she was in 33 matches ranking 5th in kills (138) with 20 aces, 70 digs and 75 total blocks. She just finished her third season with TWU.

Coach Carradine
Jay Carradine has lived in the Denton area for ten years with his wife Carmen and two daughters Candice and Katrina.
He became involved with volleyball through his daughter Candice, who has played on parks and recreation teams, club teams, as well as McMath Middle School and Guyer High School teams. Jay played and coached Denton adult recreational teams and worked with a Denton junior girl's recreational team. He was assistant coach last year for Team North Texas. Coach Jay will be assisting with the 14 Club team.
Jay is the Director of Select Set Volleyball Club based in Denton, Texas.
